How to scan graded cards (slabs).

Modified on Tue, 12 Jul, 2022 at 8:47 AM

Using a standard flatbed scanner to scan graded cards may create a blurry image. It is because the scanner focus point is at the glass.

To successfully scan a graded card, you need a scanner with CCD technology. Example:

  • Epson Perfection V3x  ( V30, V37, V370, V500, ...)
  • Canon CanoScan xx00F (5000F, 5600F, 8400F, 8600F, 9000F)

Those scanners are known to produce crisp scans of graded cards. And they are way faster than typical all-in-one printer-scanners that are notably slow.

Or for excellent result you can also use a regular camera or cell phone camera and import the photos into Kronocard using the provided import module. More information here.
