How to create your own Export CSV Template (Shopify and others)

Modified on Wed, 8 Jan at 12:24 AM

(Some more details on the Export feature HERE)

Now that Kronozio has a new template mechanism for exporting CSV files, you can load most of your Kronocard inventory onto any website that supports CSV imports. On this page, we will explain how to adjust a CSV file from any marketplace or website to match Kronozio's data. This ensures the data is consistently well-formatted and ready for import without requiring further manipulation in Excel.

By default, we provide two templates: a standard Kronozio template that exports all card attributes, just as it did before without templates, and a second template called "eBay My Collection." This allows you to load some of your inventory onto eBay without listing the cards for sale. It’s not a draft, active, or archived listing—it's specifically for "My Collection."

However, even if you're not interested in listing on "My Collection," we will show you how to create your own template for any site.

When a template is created, save it in the folder:   C:\ProgramData\Kronozio\Metacard\Templates

The filename is the name that will appear in the Kronocard template selector (without the .csv extension).

Create your own template

Template creation is quite straightforward. Based on the site's CSV import example file, you keep only the column headers and, under each column, add the corresponding data from Kronocard, as shown below.

Let’s take a look at the eBay My Collection template. This is the preconfigured Kronozio template, ready for use.

Ok it's too small... ?

For the sake of this example, I will present the columns and their corresponding information vertically instead of horizontally, as they would typically appear.

From the eBay example they provided (similar to any other website), we get the column header names:

Title, Sport, Purchase Price, etc. (left column). These come from eBay.

On the right, we map the corresponding Kronocard attributes, which will be replaced by the card information when exported.

As you can see, in the Title field, you can combine multiple attributes into the same field.

Below is the list of Kronozio UPPERCASE attributes that you can add to a template.

** Values with bracket will not be replaced by True or False but by rookie, autograph, relic and numbered

As you can see in the official eBay My Collection CSV example they provided, we simply added the matching Kronocard attribute on the second line and deleted everything after that line.

Now, when the cards are exported using this new template, all the information will be well-structured, saving you a lot of time by eliminating the need to manipulate data repeatedly.

For exporting a CSV that is compatible with Shopify, you can use the Shopify Basic template that is now provided. However, due to the nature and complexity of Shopify, there is no 100% guarantee that it will work for you on the first try. This depends on your shop's parameters, categories, tags, etc. In most cases, the Basic export will work directly.

To simplify the upload of images to your Shopify store or other templates, if you have used the AI to document your cards, the images are already stored on our server. By selecting the "Use Kronozio online images" option, Shopify or another service will pull the images directly from Kronozio's server to import them into your shop.

If you documented the cards manually, you will need to upload the images to a cloud server and manually provide the URLs for the front and back images in the template.

If you ever need help uploading your cards to Shopify, just let us know—we'll work with you to make it happen.
